Install

curl -fsSL https://cli.paperpile.com/install.sh | sh -s -- --channel staging

Windows (PowerShell):

& ([scriptblock]::Create((irm https://cli.paperpile.com/install.ps1))) -Channel staging

The script verifies checksums and installs to /usr/local/bin (or ~/.local/bin). Later, paperpile-stage update gets you the newest version.
