Field selection

Field selection lets you limit the response to only the fields you need. Use fields on list endpoints:

GET /references?fields=id&fields=title&fields=author

When fields is specified, only the listed fields are included in each result object. id is always included; for references, type is always included too.

Expandable fields return IDs by default. Use expand to get the full related objects:

GET /references?expand=folders&expand=labels
GET /files?expand=reference

When you combine fields with expand, every expanded field must also be listed in fields — otherwise the request returns 400. For example: GET /references?fields=id&fields=folders&expand=folders.
